UHPC Panel For MTQ
Overview
Petra Design was entrusted with delivering a lightweight, sustainable, and high-performance cladding solution for MTQ. In response, we engineered and manufactured a 40mm-thick Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) panel system, designed to replace the outdated, heavy precast panels. Our custom-designed UHPC panels provide a thinner and lighter alternative while being fire-rated, offering enhanced fire resistance, higher strength, and exceptional durability as key requirements for the project. To ensure efficient installation, Petra Design also developed a pre-engineered hanging system. This system streamlines the lifting, precise positioning, and secure cladding of the fire-rated UHPC panels onto the existing structure. Through this innovative solution, Petra Design successfully met MTQ’s demands for sustainability, functionality, and ease of installation.

Ellie Tower Condominium
Overview
A 31-storey condo and 11-storey office building located at 5220 Yonge Street in Toronto’s North York City Centre area. The cladding panels were created in separate pieces, each measuring approximately 12 x 6 feet. These GFRC panels were individually manufactured and connected using a steel frame made of Hollow Structural Sections (HSS). Anchor fasteners were used to securely attach the panels to the frame. This construction method allows for the creation of large, customized wall cladding systems that provide both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity.

Overview
CN Tower OverView – a bold addition to Toronto’s iconic landmark. This project involved an innovative GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) Manufactured benches, seamlessly covering the entire inner ring of the CN Tower’s lower observation deck. Engineered to enhance both form and function, This GFRC OverView offers a thrilling, immersive vantage point for visitors, redefining how they experience the cityscape. While primarily an interior project, the OverView exemplifies a sophisticated architectural renovation, integrating modern materials with timeless design. With this project, Petra Design highlights our commitment to elevating landmark architecture, blending artistry with engineering precision to create unforgettable experiences.

Lead Car Honda
Overview
Petra Design partnered with Telling Architecture and FSI to produce 1,200 sq. ft. of charcoal-black UHPC panels for Duggan and Marcon Inc. Installed on the front elevation of the Honda Motors dealership in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, the panels create a sleek, durable façade that enhances the building’s modern identity. Fabricated at just ½ inch thick, the Ultra-High-Performance Concrete panels feature a rough finish and were installed using a front-fastening system, delivering both structural strength and a clean, anchor-free appearance.
